Merry Gentry 1: A Kiss of Shadows - Laurell K. Hamilton
Tax included.
Merry Gentry, princess of the high court of Faerie, is posing as a human in Los Angeles where she works as a private investigator specializing in supernatural crime. But now her loathed aunt - the Queen of Air and Darkness - has sent an assassin to bring Merry back to court – whether she likes it or not. For Merry is to be a pawn in the Queen's ruthless plans for the succession.
The task that awaits her doesn't seem so onerous: to enjoy the company of the faerie world's most beautiful immortal men. Her reward is the crown – and to stay alive. The penalty for failure: death.
